 around with a more extreme edit.Not something I would use often but it was a fun experiment!

we've come a long way baby!

you will recognise this beautiful babe from my blogheader.
a year ago i had just bought a new lens and was starting to feel

like i knew my camera when i overheard Taya's mom say she was wanting some pictures done.

i quickly jumped in and said i would LOVE to do it.

babies are my favorite thing in the world

and the chance to combine two of my passions made me quickly forget my reservations about

 " putting myself out there" as a photographer.

Taya was at that stage ( all moms instinctively feel it ) when

she was getting ready to  grow- up..

lose those baby rolls and become a little older and

her mom wanted to make sure they were documented.
she couldn't have been more serene and beautiful!

i am looking forward to doing a session with Taya in June. i am thinking picnic / tea party ,and i have
bought a special little teacup just for the occasion!

when life gives you lemons

the month of April in northern alberta was one of the
 hottest on record. temps soared into the high 20's and
life was

 good!
however the last 2 weeks have returned to cold and dreary
 and it has been really hard to take.

sometimes a little something sweet is the only answer for my woes.
sometimes you have to  make your own sunshine!

i feel better already!

my favorite things....

i start counting down in the winter... 10 more weeks ...

7 more weeks... sometimes it seems to take for ever. it is one of my favorite days of the year.

the day i go to Fern's green house for the first time.

i  go to buy a new rose bush (or two ) every year.

you have to go early while there is still a good selection - even though i will have to baby them

for a month. bringing them out into the sunshine then back in to avoid the cold night. i go with my husband who works in that small town once a week,

 shops lowly in the gift shop, go for lunch ( in the hockey arena!!!)

wait for him at the end of the day reading in the vehicle.

... it is an occasion.

it means we have survived another long winter

and spring is here!
