Passage of Time
If you hold on to the handle , she said it's easier to maintain control. but it's more fun if you just let the wind carry you. -story People
I would be most content if my children grew up to be the kind of people who think decorating consists mostly of building enough bookshelves.  ~Anna Quindlen

i saw an interview with Anna Quindlen many years ago, she talked of how her friends marvelled at her children reading , she simply said , " look at your house, it has to be full of books and  they have to see you  be an avid reader" i had never really been conscious of it before but the very next time i tidied up the living room i realized, even with small children, a huge part of our mess was books.that hasn't changed over the years, every morning as i straighten the living room after everyone has gone for the day, the majority  of the task is piling up the books and magazines and gathering up the cups from the drinks we enjoyed while lost in them.

  1. oh, these are beautiful images, julianna! and yes, our house is drowning in books, too. my kids are 23 and 19, and they grew up with all of us reading at the dinner table every night... not what most experts recommend, but it worked for us... :)
